Standard First Aid
Course
Adults (15+)
Standard first aid courses are available throughout the
country and are
run by the local St Andrew's Ambulance Corps Company. These courses are
available to anyone from the age of 15 and over who has an interest in
learning first aid and are a
prerequisite to joining the Corps and taking part in public duties.
Please
note, this course is not
acceptable for Health and Safety at
work First Aid.
This course takes 24 hours and is usually delivered in
12 sessions one evening per
week.
The course covers:
- Principles and Practice of First Aid
- Disorders of Airway and Breathing
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Heart Disorders
- Burns and Scalds
- Fractures
- Head Injuries
- Stroke
- Fits
Certification
If successful, a Standard Certificate will be awarded.
All certificates
are valid for three years
